Genre-Busting Nissan Concept Teased Ahead of 2012 Sao Paulo ...

SAO PAULO, Brazil ? Nissan has teased its upcoming concept slated for the 2012 Sao Paulo Auto Show, promising that it "will introduce a new genre to the automotive world."

Two sketches, which show portions of the concept, have triggered global speculation that this may be a two-door crossover.

The teaser images of what appears to be a convertible reveal a family resemblance to the Nissan GT-R. The car gets a gold paint treatment. Its name is still a mystery.

"The high-character concept, which will introduce a unique new genre to the automotive world, has not only been created specifically for the Sao Paulo show, it has also been created by the (sic) cooperation with Brazilian designers, built in the country and underlines the strategic importance of Brazil for Nissan's growth plans," the automaker said in a statement.

Nissan said it plans to introduce eight new models in Brazil by 2016.

The Sao Paulo Show starts on October 24.
