Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant ? easyWDW

Location: Tomorrowland Terrace is located in Tomorrowland.? This picture was taken from the entrance to the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street.? It?s also accessible from a path across from Stitch?s Great Escape.

Food Type: A variety of pasta, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and nuggets.

Dining Plan: One quick service credit and several items count as snacks.

Menu: Note that this menu is not updated since August 2012.? Tomorrowland Terrace hasn?t been open since the menu updates.

Unique Items:The Pastas and Salads are all unique.? The Lobster Roll is available at Columbia Harbour House, but nowhere else.

Advantages:

  • Plenty of covered seating.
  • The Salads are unique and very good.? Most of the other items are a little different than what you?d find elsewhere, but the hamburger and nugget staples are also available for those that want to go that route.
  • Service is usually fast.
  • This is a great place to take a break when Tomorrowland Terrace isn?t serving food because so many tables are available.

Disadvantages:

  • It?s only open when crowds are extremely heavy.
  • The Pasta Primavera is topped with balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing.
  • If it?s raining, seats can be nearly impossible to find as people wait out the rain.
  • The Desserts and Kids? Picks are boring.

Value: Moderate.? I like the Salads and the Lobster Roll, but wasn?t wowed by either pasta dish.? The sandwiches and nuggets don?t present much of a value.

Reputation: Tomorrowland Terrace has a pretty low reputation, thanks in part to the fact that it?s rarely open and the fact that several of the items offered aren?t particularly good.

Food Choices:

Pasta Primavera with Shrimp:

In ?Disney-speak,? ?primavera? translates ?literally? to cold balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing. Accompanied by gummy noodles and gummier shrimp. I don?t have too much positive to say about this one. I was as hungry as any American could be after not eating for three or four hours and even considering those dire straits, this one still didn?t taste good. The cold sauce cooled down whatever may have at one time been hot. The pasta had been cooked some time ago and had obviously been sitting somewhere for a while. My mom is going to be really proud of this final comment though. The broccoli was the best part.? The Pasta Alfredo with Chicken looked to be better.? It?s a large chicken breast on top of noodles and topped with what I?m assuming is a decent canned Alfredo sauce.

Citrus Shrimp Salad:

The Citrus Shrimp Salad was actually really good.? It follows in the footsteps of a lot of Disney?s other fruity salads.? It?s full of little prices of melon alongside lettuce, a few pieces of red onion, and cucumber.? The differences here are the mandarin oranges and shrimp, which are somewhat rare at quick services on property.? I was impressed with the size and quality of the shrimp.? Disney would gladly put cocktail sauce underneath the shrimp instead of lettuce and charge you $9.99 with a smile. There?s about nine of them in there.? The mandarin oranges are also what you?d expect.? Though most certainly from a can, they fit in well with the overall flavor of the salad.? This is another one that?s recommended if it sounds good, particularly if you?re tired of the usual chicken salads served at most other quick services.? Now that the Beef Salad is off the menu at Cosmic Ray?s Starlight Cafe (sad panda), the Beef and Blue Cheese Salad served here is your only shot at some real meat.

Beef and Blue Cheese Salad:

Obviously, you?re going to have to like ?blue cheese? to enjoy this one. The blue cheese seemed to be high enough quality. It isn?t (insert amazing name brand) quality, I?m sure, but it would be comparable to something like Sargento. You can actually see all of the beef that?s in it sitting on top. There might be one more piece hiding, but it wasn?t a hefty portion of meat. It?s also topped with a few apple slices and has a lot of tomatoes mixed in. Overall, I was pleased with it and surprised at the amount of blue cheese sprinkled on top. I don?t think you could expect much more. I would have liked more beef as there?s only six or so bites. For me, there was the ?perfect? amount of balsamic vinaigrette mixed in. Try to remember to order it on the side if you like to pour it yourself. I always forget. Otherwise, it was another fine option if you?re in the market. I personally enjoyed the Citrus Salad more and the Peppercorn Chicken Salad at Columbia Harbour House is also better, in my opinion.

Lobster Roll:

I don?t have a lobster roll frame of reference because as far as I can recall I?ve never had one before. Florida isn?t exactly known for its lobsters. This one was actually pretty good?I think. I doubt it would live up to your expectations if you were a lobster roll connoisseur from Maine, but it was better than I was expecting it to be. The roll was fresh and it seemed like there was a decent amount of lobster in it. Intrigued, I asked the cashier for the list of ingredients. You can ask the cashier for a list of ingredients for every item on the menu at any Disney quick service location and they?ll hand you a thick binder. Lo and behold, the number one ingredient was listed as ?lobster meat,? so I guess we?ll have to take their word for it. I wasn?t too sure what was going on with the homemade chips. Some of the them were crunchy, others soft, some of them salty, others less so. Honestly, I wasn?t sure if this was intentional or not. The crunchy ones were better I thought.

Seating:

Tomorrowland Terrace offers plentiful seating, though it is all outdoors. The setting is mostly concrete and ferns.

Pretty comfortable seating.

An example of what it looks like in the rain.

Condiments:

Expect the usual.
